Where to find Raratu Lodge
Directions from the north to Raratu Lodge
If you are driving in from Auckland or the Airport follow State Highway 2 as it travels through Napier and onto the Marine Parade. Continue to follow state highway 2 down Marine parade, past the Fertiliser Works and through Clive.
Three (3) kms past Clive turn left into Pilcher road. (Pilcher road is opposite Mangateretere School). Pilcher Road intercects via a roundabout with Te Mata -Mangateretere Road. Follow Te Mata-Mangateretere road to where it intersects with Waimarama Road
While on Waimarama Road you will pass the Havelock hills and Te Mata Peak, on your right with the Tuki Tuki river on your left.
Directly after the bridge turn right onto Kahuranaki Road (this is also the road to Elsthorpe.)
You will now have the river on your right. Travel approximately 5 kms until you come to a 'stock droving' sign and a small bridge, on the end of which you will see the Raratu Lodge sign.
Turn left directly as you come off the small bridge into Raratu road. follow the Raratu Lodge signs to the very top of the private road, watching for goats on the way up.
Directions from the south to Raratu Lodge
If you are driving up from the south, follow state highway 2 into Hastings. Then follow the signs through to Havelock North. At the roundabout in the center of Havelock North village find Te Mata Road. Follow Te Mata road about 3.5km's and turn right into Waimarama Road.
While on Waimarama Road you will pass the Havelock hills and Te Mata Peak, on your right with the Tuki Tuki river on your left.
